In the Amèlia snail dish the indentations that contain the snails are modeled on impressions made by real snails, using a prototype made by the designer. With Amèlia, Lluis Clotet continues his formal search begun in 1994 with the Foix tray. Clotet belongs to the group of designers who seek to contradict the perfection of form, which today is seen as the reflection of an industrial production, far from the thought and hand of man. For all the objects he has created for Alessi, Clotet has given them names from the literary work of poet J.V. Foix (Barcelona 1893-1987), beginning with the round Foix tray in 1994.
