Matali Crasset is industrial designer of formation, born on July 28, 1965 in Chalons en Champagne, France.

At the image of one of her emblematic objects , the column of hospitality “when Jim goes up to Paris”, she sets up an own methodology in which she questions the obviousness of the codes which govern our daily life for better freeing themselves some and testing. She thus develops the new typologies articulated around principles such as the modularity, the appropriation, flexibility, the network.

Her work, which was essential as from the Nineties like the refusal of the pure form, conceives like a research moving, made assumptions more than of principles. She collaborates with eclectic universes, craft industry with the electronic music, textile industry with the equitable trade. Her achievements thus brought her on grounds which she did not suspect, of scenography to furniture, of graphics to the interior architecture.
