Jouin Patrick
Patrick Jouin is a French designer, born in 1967 in Nantes. After earned his diploma in 1986, Patrick Jouin continued studies of design to the ENSCI of Paris from which he was graduated in 1992. He started to work for Thomson Multimédia before joining the agency of Philippe Starck one year later.
In 1998, he established his own agency within which he carries out projects of design of objects, interior architecture and scenography.
He creates objects and pieces of furniture which are published by Ligne Roset, Cassina, Fermob, Kartell or Alessi. He also constructs a prototype of top-of-the-range vehicle for Renault.
In 1999, he met Alain Ducasse with whom he collaborated and carried out the design of several restaurants in the world, in particular Plaza Athénée, Spoon Byblos, the Mix (New York, Las Vegas) and saw himself entrusting the decoration of the Jules Verne on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.
In 2007, he designed the bicycle which will be retained for Velib' and will be manufactured by Lapierre.
His style is often described as discrete and stripped, but remains nevertheless elegant, poetic and combines tradition and modernity.
Creations of Patrick Jouin form part of the collections of MoMA, Mudam and the Pompidou Center.
