Jasper Morrison is an English designer, born in 1959 in London.  In the furniture design world, Jasper Morrison is one of the representatives of the “New simplicity”.

After studies of design in Kingston Polytechnic, with the Royal College off Art in London and at the School of the Art schools of Berlin, he creates its own studio, the Office for Design, in 1986. In the early 80's, he knows success with his tables Handlebar and Flowerpot, and the Laundry chair. His work for the exposure of Documenta 8 of Kassel in 1987 also draws the attention.

Jasper Morrison is very sensitive to the purity of the lines and the forms, and pays an special attention to materials, in particular to plywood and aluminium. At the end of the Eighties, he acquires an international repute with its Plychair (for Vitra, 1988), his door handle 1144 (for FSB, 1990) and his famous Thinking Man' S Chair (for Cappellini, 1988) out of underlined steel tube of painting anti-rust color.
