Sugar Cube designed by Marti Guixe with Alessi is a container for sugar that represents a sugar cube of large shape. The sugar effect is obtained by a treatment on the surfaces of the sides that simulates a crystal structure. The box is equipped with a triangular-shaped opening that is used to pour the sugar. The shape of this opening is the same shape which is formed when cutting the edge of a rigid cardboard box like the ones from sugar or salt. The opening, set exactly on the edge, takes advantage of the shape of the box to easily pour out the contents just like a hopper. The top of the box is a lid that slides open to allow easy refilling. Sugar cube is made with PMMA semi-transparent thermoplastic material, useful to recognize the contents in case of more containers with different types of sugars.
