The UTA kitchen box was designed in 1936 by UTA (Ufficio Tecnico Alessi), the first Alessi technical laboratory, developped by Carlo Alessi. The UTA box collection has just been reedited by Alessi. For Alberto Alessi "they were examples of an era of the consumer society which was destined to disappear quickly: a time I’d call pre-design, prior to the phenomenon of Designer goods in all of our homes. They were heavily influenced by almost obsessive attention to function, proper manufacturing methods". This shows the timelesness of the UTA kitchen box. Part of the UTA serie figure also a sugar box, a salt box and a coffee box.
